Aleksandra’s visceral textured works explore the tension between personal, collective and documented memory, inspired by her Eastern European upbringing. Incorporating hand made pigments, she combines an energetic exchange of materials, blurring boundaries between inner dialogue & global reality in an era of Anthropocene. Her poetic, collaged paintings, with luminous colours and instinctive brushstrokes, are rooted in themes of migration, war, the impact of generational trauma, and possibility of hope.
